This session will go through the steps that City of Los Angeles staff took, in partnership with their consultants at Code Studio and Urban Insight, to develop a first-of-its-kind, online experience for it's new Zoning Code. A guided tour of the system will help you learn about how the latest web search and interactivity tools have been incorporated and, more importantly, learn about the new tools that have been created to provide users property-specific zoning reports. You will see how you can organize your zoning regulations so that your users are able get a code that applies to them and not worry about the standards that are not applicable.
WebCode was made open-source by the City of Los Angeles so that others may benefit from this investment. City of Los Angeles staff is already thinking up ways for to provide additional features and services, and perhaps you too can build upon it to deliver new functionality. Collectively, we can offer a better customer service experience going into the future.
