Ethics: Fun, Facts, & Credits

Planners will learn firsthand how the updated Code of Ethics emphasizes the commitment to equity and inclusion, to opposing harassment, and to preventing misuse of the AICP credential. Planners will know how to access the Code of Ethics and how the Code sets certified planners from others by focusing on integrity, appearance of fairness, and a commitment to supporting fair and just communities. Following an overview of the Code of Ethics from the panelists and a summary of two recent real-life case, the game will begin. The audience will be divided into teams to participate in the Jeopardy-style game focused on the material that was just covered by the panelists. The game will be open-book to encourage the audience to access the code on their phones for future reference. Planners will need to be sharp and prompt to respond to clues displayed on the screen - the game will move rapidly as clues are selected and answered in quick succession. Successful teams will know their Code of Ethics and will have paid attention during the overview portion.
