Katherine Sacco is Managing Director at Urban Design Forum. For the past five years, she has led design, research and policy initiatives that advance equity in the built environment and foster a new generation of urban leaders. In 2020, she co-facilitated Neighborhoods Now, a partnership with Van Alen Institute that supported community-led recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, she supported the launch of the Local Center, a new community design network in partnership with the Association for Neighborhood & Housing Development that connects neighborhood leaders, designers, and government agencies to transform public space across New York City. Trained as an anthropologist, Katherine holds degrees from the University of Chicago and University of California – Irvine.
