Brian Block is a nighttime economy management expert with over 20 years of experience in city government with a focus on planning, placemaking, economic development, live music, nightlife and entertainment. Brian serves as the City of Austin’s Nightlife and Entertainment Services Manager where he oversees entertainment-related sound management and works to support entertainment, nightlife and live music in Austin by cultivating thriving nightlife, vibrant, safe and well managed entertainment districts, and residential quality of life through regulation, planning, policy and partnerships. Brian is the founding President and the current board treasurer of The NITECAP Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting and supporting the growing network of nighttime economy managers within local governments and advancing nighttime management in US cities.
