Rebeccah Ballo is committed to equitably exploring and preserving the stories of the past to inform our future. As the Montgomery Planning Historic Preservation Supervisor, Rebeccah has worked closely with community members, especially vulnerable residents, to ensure their stories are recorded and preserved so that these histories are reflected in the county’s historically designated sites. She fosters historic preservation efforts at the local level in order to create a more inclusive and equitable future for Montgomery County. Rebeccah has worked as a preservation planner in local governments in the Washington DC region since 2002. She obtained her Master’s in Environmental and Urban Planning from the University of Virginia and her BA in History from Washington University in St. Louis. Rebeccah is also an Adjunct Lecturer with Georgetown University and an appointed member of the Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) in Fairfax, VA.
