Ken Schwartz is a Senior Vice President and Practice Leader for Planning at VHB, an integrated planning, design and engineering services firm with over 30 offices throughout the east coast. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm’s land use planning, design and public outreach efforts. An award-winning NCI Charrette Planner with over 40 years of experience, Ken works with state and federal agencies, cities and towns, institutions and private developers, leading projects through the community planning process while building a shared vision for large and complex redevelopment areas. He has directed town-wide comprehensive plans, neighborhood master palns, and transit oriented development studies, and secured environmental approvals for numerous high profile projects in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York. Ken was Project Director on the Wigwam Pond Planning Study which created a public access and recreation plan for 23-acre water body located in Dedham, Massachusetts. Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from Clark University and a master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from Tufts University.
