David Gamble is an architect and urban planner and Principal of Gamble Associates, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The firm focuses on urban revitalization and community development. David is a Lecturer in Urban Design in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT and he was former Chair of the American Institute of Architects Regional and Urban Design Committee and the Urban Design Committee of the Boston Society of Architects. His research looks at the catalytic effects of urban design and planning projects with a focus on the creative design and implementation strategies to enable redevelopment. David is editor of “Idea City” (UMass Press, 2023) and “Rebuilding the American City” (co-author Patty Heyda, Routledge Press, 2016) which looks at the catalytic effects of urban design and planning projects with a focus on creative implementation strategies. This presentation is based on their forthcoming book “Rebuilding the American Town” which will be published in Fall 2024.
