Valerie Friedmann, AICP, is an urban planner who specializes in the relationship between policy and parks. She currently leads the 10-Minute Walk program’s local park equity policy initiatives at the Trust for Public Land. In this role, she collaborates with cities and partners to develop and implement innovative park equity policies and resources. Before joining TPL, Valerie served as a Senior Long Range Planner for the City of Lexington, KY. She has also worked as an Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at Auburn University. Valerie holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape design and construction and a master’s degree in landscape architecture, both from the University of Tennessee.
