Tynisha D. George, MSW, MPH, is a trained public health social worker who works for Chicago Department of Public Health. She completed her undergraduate at the State University of New York: College at Old Westbury with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology. She completed graduate school at Stony Brook University (New York), earning a dual master's degree in Social Work and Public Health. While enrolled at Stony Brook University, Tynisha received the National Association of Social Workers, Masters in Social Work Student Award from the New York State Chapter. Tynisha received this award due to her work promoting racial and health equity within the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook University.
Tynisha is a social justice warrior who works diligently to provide adequate resources to disadvantaged communities. Her diverse professional experience includes providing clinical services to marginalized communities and using this experience to advocate for racial and health equity through an interdisciplinary lens to issues not limited to behavioral health and social injustices. In addition, her client-facing experience has led her to consult on the state and federal levels, assisting with synthesizing ideas to find the most effective ways to develop strategies and implement various interventions.
