Raquel Padilla is an urban planner who has worked at the intersection of modelling design, spatial analysis, and data analytics. She holds a DUT in Urban Management and Tourism Development from the IUT Périgueux-Bordeaux IV, a License in Urban Planning from the University of Guadalajara and she is currently a second-year graduate student at Columbia University in the MS in Urban Planning. Before joining Columbia, she collaborated with the University of Guadalajara in the Institute for Study and Research of Cities (IN-Ciudades), and with the CityScienceLab@Guadalajara. During her collaboration with the latter, she took part in the implementation of the Cityscope for the University Cultural District where she was in charge of designing the analysis model. Further academic interests include city and technology, mobility, and virtual work; this latter was the subject of her master thesis: ‘Understanding remote work in the post-pandemic world: An exploration of lived experiences. How remote work is shaping our quotidian and how it is shaping our cities.’ After completing her master’s degree, Raquel will join the doctoral program in Planning and Public Policy at the Bloustein School of Rutgers University where she will continue exploring her interest in remote work and the city.
