Nathan Lipson is a transportation planner in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a B.A. in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Sustainable Real Estate Development from Tulane University.
Nathan's professional journey began in 2016 at a New Orleans urban planning firm, TMG Consulting, rising from a Planning Intern to a Transportation Planning Analyst over six years. Their work on the $1.2 billion passenger terminal project for the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport showcased their research agility, interagency coordination, and attention to detail. In April 2023, Nathan joined WSP as a Senior Transportation/Environmental Planner, where he currently serves as Project Manager for Program Management for the Port of South Louisiana among other roles in transit and transportation planning.
Beyond work, Nathan advocates for housing equity, transit, water management, and international travel. Nathan's global travel experiences provide a unique perspective on urban planning. In their free time, Nathan tends to their garden, visits the dog park with their rescue dog, and holds roles as Section Director of the board of the Metro New Orleans Section of the American Planning Association and National Expansion Director for the Alpha Rho Chi professional fraternity.
