Najahla Olumiji is the Food Systems Planner for the Baltimore City Food Policy and Planning division, which sits within the City's Department of Planning. Najahla is a Virginia native but considers Baltimore her long-term home. She has a bachelor’s degree in Politics from the University of Virginia and a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University. She initially joined Food Policy in 2021 as a Baltimore Corps Food Policy Fellow. During that time, she helped design and implement the B'more Fresh online SNAP nutrition incentive program and collaborated with the Office of Sustainability. As Food Systems Planner, she primarily leads the Food Policy team's urban agriculture work, as well as writing the Food Access chapter of the "Our Baltimore" comprehensive plan, supporting new farmers' markets, and managing the division's Healthy Food Priority Area funds.
