Sustainability Project Manager
University of Minnesota
Minneapolis, MN
Amanda Kohn is a Sustainability Project Manager supporting system-wide efforts across the five University of Minnesota (UMN) campuses. Her specialty within sustainability is managing planning and design projects that mitigate climate change and build community climate resilience. During the panel session, Amanda will focus on how hybrid work and learning impacted the climate action planning process and outcomes for the UMN Twin Cities campus. She will share how her first planning position (pre-pandemic) was fully remote and how this prepared her to be a leader within her new company when the workplace expectations shifted during COVID. Before working at UMN, Amanda worked both in the public sector as the Sustainability Director for the Town of Concord, MA and as a consultant at a multi-disciplinary design firm, where her primary responsibility was managing a multi-million-dollar climate adaptation grant and project portfolio. Amanda holds a master’s degree from Tufts University in Urban and Environmental Planning and Policy and bachelor’s degrees from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in Biology, Environmental Science, and Sociology. In her free time, she enjoys being outside by exploring local walking trails, trying new restaurants, and joining friends for social sports.
