Dan Kalmon is the Planning Principal at the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO). He has worked with water resources in the Twin Cities Metro Area since 1997. His work includes leading the watershed’s 10-year plan update. Developing partnerships with cities and developers to work collaboratively on capital projects that further the MWMO’s goal of connecting habitat, privately owned public places, and surface stormwater. He is involved in concept planning through the design, build, funding, operations, and maintenance lifecycle. This includes investigating the potential for closed-loop district infrastructure systems, co-writing and managing legal agreements that operationalize systems-based redevelopment, and serving as the administrator of two multi-parcel District Systems in the MWMO. He holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning with a Water Resource Specialization from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
