Urban Designer
Salt Lake City Corporation
Salt Lake City, UT
Amanda Roman is Salt Lake City's Urban Designer, where she works within the Planning Division to achieve high quality urban design for our rapidly growing city. Amanda is dedicated to her role in creating urban spaces that are functional, inclusive, and adaptable. She has a Master’s Degree in City & Metropolitan Planning and a Graduate Certificate in Urban Design from the University of Utah.
Amanda is currently involved in several exciting projects that will increase downtown livability and support the city’s increase in population. Projects include a Green Loop linear parkway surrounding downtown, the pedestrianization of Main Street, increasing downtown building heights and design standards, creating a downtown entertainment district, and (hopefully!) planning for the upcoming 2034 Winter Olympics.
Outside of her career, Amanda finds fulfillment in fostering animals through a local nonprofit and traveling with friends. On the home front, she enjoys spending quiet moments with her husband, while simultaneously embracing the chaos that comes with raising their almost two-year-old son.
