Katie Roth currently serves as Director of Arterial Bus Rapid Transit at Metro Transit in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this role, she leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for implementing the region’s plans for a $470 million network of arterial BRT lines connecting communities with fast, frequent transitway service. Since 2012, Katie has served in progressively responsible leadership roles in the growing and successful arterial BRT program, including leading the on-time and on-budget delivery of the METRO A, C, and D lines. Under Katie’s leadership, Metro Transit’s arterial BRT program has attracted over $275 million in discretionary funding investment and gained national attention for cost effectively improving the customer experience. Her team is currently responsible for five BRT projects in active development for completion by 2030, with another seven lines envisioned in regional plans by 2040. Katie holds a B.A. from Indiana University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota. She serves as an alumni mentor for planning graduate students and is active in WTS, NACTO, and APTA. Katie lives with her husband and their giant Goldendoodle in a south Minneapolis neighborhood with excellent transit access.
