The 15-minute city strives to bring people closer to the day-to-day destinations that matter. Planning for policies, projects, and investments to advance these aspirations requires an understanding of access to jobs, services, and other key destinations via all transportation modes. This presentation will detail how planners can leverage Google Maps' tools (specifically the Google Maps API) in combination with other data sources to measure accessibility at a fine-grained scale. Following this approach, planners can identify areas lacking equitable access and track the impact of interventions over time. Learn how this analysis was applied in two cities: Ann Arbor, Michigan and New York City.
