This presentation will present a framework for using GIS in developing a Healthy Community Element to the Comprehensive Plan. Data used and modeled using GIS will be described. The examples to be shared are real studies conducted by the Community Development Department of City of Delano, California in developing its Healthy Delano Element of its General Plan. The GIS studies showed inequities related to health for which policies to address the issues were developed and adopted.
