Advocating for Better Climate Policy (and Funding)

This session is designed to equip planners with essential tools and practical methods to navigate challenges and drive transformative change. Planners will learn about a series of tools and resources for effective climate advocacy—information critical for influencing impactful climate policy, legislation, and funding. It will highlight specific examples of recently enacted legislation and effective examples of planner-led advocacy efforts at the national, state, and local level, and opportunities for collaborative. Through real-world examples, planners will gain skills to integrate equity considerations into their efforts, ensuring fair and inclusive outcomes. The integration of equity considerations empowers planners to prioritize marginalized communities in their ongoing climate advocacy efforts.
