Beth Elliott is a Principal at Stantec and leads both Stantec’s Midwest Planning & Design Team and planning and engagement work inside its national Urban Places virtual studio. She works with communities large and small to set long-range policy frameworks, engage diverse audiences through creative strategies, and implement land use policies through on-call planning services. Prior to joining Stantec, Beth spent 14 years as a public sector planner for the City of Minneapolis, including 11 years as the Principal Planner for Downtown Minneapolis. She is known for her collaboration and communication skills among elected officials, community members, developers, and businesses to advance projects. Beth has proven experience managing complex projects related to comprehensive planning, community revitalization, zoning and other regulatory frameworks, environmental reviews, transportation planning, transit-oriented development, downtown in-fill redevelopment, and public participation methods. Beth has a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. She is a member of the American Planning Association and Lambda Alpha International as well as certified through the American Institute of Certified Planners.
