Elizabeth Ernish, AICP is an award-winning urban planner with more than 25 years of experience in public realm and open space projects. A graduate of the CUNY Hunter College’s Master of Urban Planning program, she has had the unique opportunity to work on public infrastructure projects from several difference vantage points including the non-profit and advocacy world, the private sector, the political arena and with a public agency, NYC Parks, where she is currently a project administrator in the Environment & Planning Division. At NYC Parks, Ms. Ernish was the point of contact for the Gowanus Neighborhood Plan, an ambitious areawide rezoning, and part of the team that drafted the Gowanus Waterfront Access Plan and developed the open space capital strategy. She also coordinates with developers on waterfront zoning obligations throughout NYC to ensure they deliver the highest quality of open space possible.
Over the past five years, she’s refined her GIS and spatial analysis skills and is thrilled to share what she’s learned! A long-time bike commuter, Elizabeth has lived in Red Hook, Brooklyn with her family for over twenty years and grows peaches in her backyard.
