Emily "Hope" Warren, AICP (Resilience Planning Program Manager, South Carolina Office of Resilience): As part of the Resilience Planning team at the South Carolina Office of Resilience (SCOR), Hope recently completed the state’s first Strategic Statewide Resilience and Risk Reduction Plan. The plan will serve as a framework to guide state investment, policies, and programs to protect the people and property of South Carolina from the damage and destruction of future extreme weather events. Hope is responsible for coordinating SCOR’s watershed-based resilience planning program to support cross-jurisdictional planning and implementation of projects, programs and policies at the local and regional scale. Prior to this position, Hope worked in SCOR’s HUD funded CDBG-Mitigation program, coordinating local flood reduction plans and studies. Prior to her work with the South Carolina Office of Resilience, she worked in several cities and counties in the Upstate of South Carolina in the areas of community development, tourism, and planning. Hope is a graduate of Clemson University, with a bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management and a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning.
