Ipshita Karmakar (MCP, B.Arch) is an Urban Resilience consultant at the City Resilience Program; a collaboration between the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Risk Reduction. She is also the co-founder of Climate Ready Futures, a consultancy based in India, where she applies her expertise in geospatial and climate analytics to tackle pressing issues of disaster risk mitigation and preparedness within the realm of international development. She received her Master's in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and was the receipient of the Fulbright Scholarship for the duration of her program. Prior to her current roles, she practiced as an architect and urban designer in South Asia, and received an undergraduate degree in architecture from KRVIA, Mumbai. Her commitments within the broader urban resilience field include contributing to the APA's Ukraine Rebuilding Action Group, International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), and local urban resilience policy efforts in Boston and Washington DC.
