Kathleen Mayell, AICP joined the City of Minneapolis Public Works Department in 2016 as a Transportation Planning Manager. She leads transportation planning activities and initiatives, including planning efforts like the City's 10-year Transportation Action Plan and the Racial Equity Framework for Transportation, and oversees a team responsible for the Vision Zero effort and the City’s role in regional transit projects. Her focus is on using space in cities in ways that let people travel safely, encourage activity, and help make our collective travel choices have less climate impact. Kathleen previously held positions at the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the City of Somerville, Massachusetts, and Project for Public Spaces in New York City. She holds a Master of City Planning and an Urban Design Certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
