Sandra P. Wood is a Principal Planner at the City of Portland’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability. As manager of the Bureau’s Code Development Studio and Historic Preservation Program, she is an expert in zoning tools and the City’s legislative process. During her 20+ years working in both current and long-range planning, she has overseen countless projects to amend Portland’s zoning code, including the re-invention of single-dwelling zones and rewriting the design review and historic resources regulations. Ms. Wood is also the advisor to Portland's Planning Commission. She holds degrees in Urban Planning and Political Science from Virginia Tech, lives in Portland, Oregon and considers Bolivia home.
